As a small community project, we rely entirely on the generosity of the community, local businesses, grants, and donations.
Ways to support us
There are lots of ways you can get involved with our work and help us support families with babies and young children.
Donate items
We are currently closed. We will reopen on Thursday 5th September. Please do not leave donations at the baby bank during this time.
Baby items can be dropped off anytime Monday to Saturday (excluding bank and school holidays). The drop off sheds are at the end of the driveway at our Fordham base. If you unable to visit, we may be able to arrange a collection - please get in touch.
We take most baby items except car seats, changing tables and maternity wear. Clothing is up to 18 months and must be in very good condition and from a smoke free home.
We also have an Amazon wishlist We're incredibly grateful for anything on the list!
Donate money
Your donation will help us to provide families with essential items they need for their babies. There are lots of ways to donate:
- Via our our Go Fund Me page: gofundme.com/elybabybank.
- Via bank transfer (please get in touch for details).
- Leave a donation in one of our buckets during opening hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-1pm).
- Via cheque to Ely Baby Bank.
Donate items in Tesco
We have collection points in Tesco Newmarket and Tesco Ely, where we are incredibly grateful for any donations of formula milk and nappies.
The Tesco collection points are not for general donations. Please bring donations of all other baby items to our Fordham base.
We would be delighted to have collection baskets in other local supermarkets too. If you're able to help with this, please get in touch!
Volunteer
New volunteers are always very welcome. No commitment, skills or experience are required. Volunteer roles are varied, but include:
- Sorting donations of baby goods.
- Welcoming families to the baby bank and supporting them during their visit.
- Collecting donations from local supermarkets.
- Painting, building, and maintenance work around our site.
- Serving in the café.
- Baking cakes for the café.
- Helping with admin tasks.
- Fundraising.
If you would like to volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via our contact page, our Facebook page, or just come along and meet us whenever we are open.
Raise free funds online
Whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free funds for Ely Baby Bank! There are over 8,000 retailers including Tesco, John Lewis, M&S, eBay, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to us as a thank you for shopping with them.
It’s really simple, and it doesn’t cost you anything. All you have to do is:
1. Visit our page on the Easy Fundraising website and sign up for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the retailer you want and start shopping.
After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to us for no extra cost whatsoever!
